From fat truck to new job
The same goes for Marcel van Esch – now a truck builder at BUFFL. His transition began not with a job application, but with a special truck on the road.
The trigger: a Scania that impressed
Marcel worked for years as a truck mechanic and later made the step to chief workshop in Veghel. A great job, but somewhere he kept itching: back to real mechanics.
That thought got a push over the summer, when he got to align a Scania Next Gen in Govers colors in the workshop. A truck that immediately stood out. Sleek. Finished down to the last detail. No half work. “You immediately see the difference between something that has been put together, and something that has really been built,” Marcel sums up the feeling.
A conversation that stuck
During that moment, he spoke to the driver of the truck. He told him about BUFFL and that they are always looking for people who really want to build. That stuck.
Marcel already knew BUFFL and VAEX The Truck Traders from the industry, and knew: this is not a standard workplace. This suits how he himself stands in his profession.
Choosing feeling over doubt
After a few weeks of doubt, one phone call to Kevin from BUFFL followed. No endless looking around, no piles of conversations. It clicked immediately.
The atmosphere, the people, the projects – everything felt logical. And for Marcel, that was more important than a few extra euros. “Experience is more important to me than a few pennies more.”
Working at BUFFL in practice
Marcel now works as a truck builder at BUFFL. And he likes it.
The work is varied, technical and challenging. From custom assembly to electrical connections: no day is the same.
What stands out above all:
- clear work orders
- modern and complete equipment
- professionals around you
- and a team that really welcomes you
In place
For Marcel, BUFFL feels like the right move.
No noise, no fuss, just building unique trucks with people who have the same goal: to deliver quality you can be proud of.
